At Tanner and Reichhold Orthodontics, we know that no one likes a mouth full of gooey putty and that impressions can be uncomfortable and a major hassle. In an effort to provide our patients with a positive experience and the best treatment possible, we are proud to have an iTero Digital Scanner as a new state-of-the-art tool in our office!
The iTero Digital Scanner is the latest technology for digitally capturing an image of your teeth. It is far more accurate than any impression that we could take in the office with the old method of a mouth full of messy impression material. This technology allows us to capture three-dimensional images of your teeth with amazing accuracy and visually see the result on the computer in real-time as we are scanning the teeth. The scanner head fits in the mouth easily and we are basically taking digital photos of the teeth and sending them directly to the computer. The iTero digital data can be sent directly to Invisalign to get Invisalign treatment started sooner. The Invisalign trays that are made from the digital scan of your teeth fit up to 7 times better than those made from an impression. We are very excited to be using this amazing new tool in our office!
